Working with paragraph and list content blocks
Beefree App is now RGE Studio!
The email design suite you already know and love just leveled up. We’re working hard to update our help center, but you still may see some references to the old product name.
This article applies to the Email and Pages builder in all plans.
Overview
In March 2022, we retired the original Text content block and replaced it with two new content blocks:
- Paragraph
- List

These updates improved the user experience by providing enhanced text formatting options and rendering content pasted from external tools or word processors.
Many of the formatting options available in the Paragraph and List blocks are also found in other content blocks that include text, such as:
- Titles
- Buttons
- Forms
- Tables
This ensures consistency across your design and allows you to manage typography more easily throughout your emails and pages.
Paragraph block
The Paragraph content block includes various formatting options that you may access from the Content Properties sidebar. The available formatting options are:
- Font family: Choose the typeface used in your content block. RGE Studio includes a variety of pre-loaded fonts, and you can also upload your own custom fonts (learn more).
- Font size: Adjust the size of your text to improve readability and visual hierarchy within your design.
- Alignment: Set your text alignment to left, center, right, or justified to match your layout preferences.
- Text direction: Choose whether your text flows left-to-right or right-to-left based on your content’s language and reading direction.
- Font weight: You can select between regular and bold font versions. All default fonts include these options; custom fonts require a stylesheet with bold variation.
- Paragraph spacing: Provides granular control over the carriage return/line break spacing. This option allows you to increase/reduce the space between your paragraphs.
- Line height: To improve readability, adjust the spacing between lines of text. You can choose preset values or enter a custom spacing between 0.5 and 3 in increments of .5.

Toolbar updates
The toolbar is now streamlined for efficiency. A non-breaking space button is available beside the emoticons button, allowing you to insert non-breaking spaces quickly when adding content.

You can use the text toolbar to apply formatting to individual words or strings of text. The available options are:
- Rich text formatting: Use these options to apply bold, italics, underline, or strikethrough formatting.
- Colors: Use these options to modify text color and/or background (highlight) color.
- Superscript/subscript: Use these options if you need text to appear slightly above or below the line.
- Special characters: Insert one of the special characters from our library, an emoji, or a non-breaking space.
- Clear formatting: Use this to remove formatting from existing text content. This can be especially helpful if the text has been pasted from another tool!
- Links: Use this to insert or remove hyperlinks from your text. You can also control link underlining on the Insert link modal.
- Special links and merge tags: For more information on this type of content, see our help center documentation.
AI Assistant
You can use our AI assistant to help with content creation. To get started, locate the Write with AI button in the sidebar. This feature is currently available for Paragraph, Title, List, and Button blocks. For tips on using AI to write content, check out this article from the Beefree SDK help center.
List block
The List block shares all formatting options with the Paragraph block, plus additional features specific to lists, such as:
- List type: Choose an ordered or unordered list.
- List style type: Basic styling options for lists.

- Start list from: Set a custom starting point for ordered lists.
- List items spacing: Adjust the spacing between list items.
- List items indent: Control the indentation level of subitems within your list.

Note on existing text content blocks
Many RGE Studio templates still include the original text content block. If you've used RGE Studio for some time, you likely have custom templates that use the text content block as well. In other cases, you may have saved rows that include this type of content.
Existing text content blocks will populate with the original formatting options. As a result, any of your templates or saved rows that include it will not update automatically. You'll see the original behavior in the toolbar and sidebar with the old content block.
You can continue to use the text block in any design where it already exists. Alternatively, you can use saved rows to continue designing with it. However, the text content block will no longer be available from the Content tab. To create text content from scratch, please use the new Paragraph and List blocks.

Thanks for the feedback, Humberto!
Hello! Thanks for your comment. I'm going to forward your feedback to our Product Team.
was searching here and there for justify text alignment. Just got to know that it has been removed and I am disappointed.. Why did you remove it? Bring it back pls
Hi Aris! This section of the custom fonts article might better address your questions: https://support.beefree.io/hc/en-us/articles/360004546251-Using-custom-fonts-in-BEE-Pro#01FYF7AS2AGNK37MA2SDE4QJCR. Right now, the font-weight feature in BEE Pro is only programmed to recognize weights 400 and 700. You can use other font weights, but this requires some extra steps and a separate stylesheet.
With all this said, I'm happy to let our Product team know that you are requesting additional font weight options!
Hi,
1. Can you add numerical values (100 to 900) on the font-weight dropdown select? Many times the design has different font-weight than normal (400) and bold (700) and we can't set this from the beefree email editor.
2. The font weights that we configure on the account settings > styles, are not propagated on the html export of the email. So we have to manually replace the HTML code. For example we change:
to
It would be great if the html export respects the "Font CSS URL" from the custom fonts settings.
Thank you, Aris.
Thank you for solving my problem! I am using my ipad. I dont have a computer. I guess I’ll just log out and cancel my subscription :( i really liked bee pro :( thanks again.
Hi Cadence, if you're still having trouble with this, could you open a community post and provide further information?
I cant even put content blocks anywhere to make my own template! Help!
I agree. You should leave the option to justify or be able to continue using the previous text widget, which had more options in the editor.
Yes, thank you so much. Appreciate it.
