Exporting to SendGrid
Beefree App is now RGE Studio!
The email design suite you already know and love just leveled up. We’re working hard to update our help center, but you still may see some references to the old product name.
This article applies to the Email builder in all plans.
Overview
Design your emails in RGE Studio and export them to SendGrid for sending. The SendGrid connector lets you export with one click.
There are two ways to connect your SendGrid account:
- From Workspace Settings: connect before you start designing.
- From the Export options of your email.
Follow the steps below or watch our RGE Studio Academy tutorial.
1. Connect from Workspace Settings
Go to Settings > Connectors.

Click the Connect button for SendGrid.

A pop-up window will open. Enter the following information, then click Connect:
-
API Key (required). Your SendGrid API key can have Full Access or Restricted Access. To connect, your API key needs one of these permissions:
- Full Access for the whole API key
- Full Access to Marketing Campaigns (Legacy Marketing Campaigns only)
- Full Access to Template Engine
- Account Name (optional).

To create an API key, see SendGrid's guide to creating an API key.
2. Connect from Export
When your email is ready, click the Export button on the Email Details page. You can also access this from the actions menu.

Find SendGrid under Integrations on the export panel. If you don't see it, click More to open the full connector list.

Search or scroll to find SendGrid. Click the SendGrid icon and follow the steps to connect your account. If you have already connected, you will not be asked again.

Next, choose where to export your email in SendGrid:
- Legacy Templates (if available in your account)
- Dynamic Templates
- Design Library

Use the Design Library to create emails in Single Sends and Automations. You can find both under Marketing in SendGrid.

RGE Studio will confirm when the export is complete. Your email will then appear in your SendGrid account.
Exporting Existing Designs
RGE Studio will recognize if you are exporting an email that you've already pushed to SendGrid. You can update the existing version in SendGrid using the Update existing option. This export option will overwrite the existing version. If you want to export a new version of your email instead, use Create as new.

Plain Text Emails
The SendGrid connector also exports a plain text version of your email. It exports automatically with the HTML version. The plain text version contains only the text of your email.
To learn more, read Litmus's guide to plain text emails.
Multiple Workspaces
If you work with multiple brands or clients, the Enterprise plan lets you create separate workspaces. Each workspace can have its own SendGrid connector.
For example, if you have 10 clients who all use SendGrid, you can create 10 workspaces. Each workspace connects to its own SendGrid account.
