Exporting to Outlook.com
Beefree App is now RGE Studio!
The email design suite you already know and love just leveled up. We’re working hard to update our help center, but you still may see some references to the old product name.
This article applies to the Email builder in all plans.
Level Up your Emails in Outlook
You can easily design your emails in the RGE Studio builder and then push them to Outlook Web for sending. Our connector allows you to export an email to Outlook with only one click.
Here are 2 ways that you can connect your Outlook account in RGE Studio:
- From the Workspace Settings section: connect your Outlook account before you start designing.
- From the Export options of your email.
This connector is only compatible with Outlook.com. If you are using a desktop version of Outlook, check out Exporting to Outlook App or Importing to Outlook instead.
Sending HTML emails via Outlook is not a recommended best practice. Designs created in RGE Studio might not render correctly when sent through Outlook. For more information, jump to the notes section.
Setting up a connector does not sync your designs with external services. If you update a design after exporting it, you must re-export to see the updates. The export file will populate as a new design inside your ESP.
Follow the steps below or watch our RGE Studio Academy tutorial.
1. Connect from Workspace Settings
Go to Settings > Connectors.

Click the Connect button for Outlook Web.

Fill out the information in the modal to begin setting up the connector. Please note that your Outlook credentials are not stored in RGE Studio. They are just used to connect your accounts.

2. Connect from Export
When your email is ready, click on the Export button on the Email Details page. This option is also available from the actions menu for your email.

Click on the Integrations icon for Outlook Web. If you don’t see it from this screen, click More to see all the connectors.

In the Integrations screen, scroll or search for Outlook Web. Click on the icon and follow the steps to connect your accounts. If you have already connected, you will not be asked to do so again.

RGE Studio will confirm that the design has been successfully exported. You'll find your exported design in the Drafts folder when you log into your account on Outlook.com.
Corporate Email Accounts
The Outlook Web Connector is compatible with corporate email accounts. This means you can export the emails you created in RGE Studio to your Outlook business account.
Connect Your Outlook Corporate Email
To connect RGE Studio to your corporate Outlook email account, you can take the same steps outlined in the 1. Connect from Workspace Settings section of this article.
When you connect RGE Studio to your Outlook Web business account, you may encounter a message indicating that approval or authorization is required for the connection to succeed. This message is prompted by specific permissions set within your Outlook Web business account, which cannot be adjusted from the RGE Studio side. To proceed, you will need to obtain the necessary approvals or modify the permissions settings directly in your Outlook account to ensure a successful connection.
The following image shows an example of this message:

To export your emails from RGE Studio to your corporate Outlook email account, you can take the same steps outlined in the 2. Connect from Export section of this article.
Additional Considerations
When you connect a corporate email account to the Outlook Web Connector in RGE Studio, keep the following in mind:
- The Outlook Web Connector is designed exclusively for exporting emails, not pages.
- Note that the "Update existing" option is not supported.
Notes
Are you using buttons in the design you exported to Outlook.com? Make sure your button links use an HTTP:// or HTTPS:// prefix. Otherwise, your button might function as text.
If sending your emails through Outlook, we recommend designing simple, single-column designs. Outlook has some limitations when used to send HTML emails. It's important to remember that Outlook is an email client rather than a sending platform. As a result, it may ignore, remove, or alter HTML elements from our code. This can cause rendering issues that we can't resolve.
Our tests indicate that Outlook makes quite a few changes to our source code. The most notable of these are the following removals:
- Any <style> tags in the head. This includes media queries we use to generate mobile-responsive designs.
- Any conditional comments in the source code. Ironically, the only conditional code we use at RGE Studio is VML, which targets Outlook clients. This can create unique rendering issues that only apply to recipients using Outlook.
Please use discretion when using the Outlook connector. Keep in mind that your email may not look or behave the way it did while testing in RGE Studio. For the best compatibility, we recommend sending emails using a professional sending platform. However, we understand that this isn't feasible for everyone, which is why we offer this as an option.
Looking for a different sending platform? You can check our complete list of connectors — or request a new one!
