SMS links not working

Overview
Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo do not support the protocol used to create SMS links. Each email client handles the broken link differently.
What each email client does
Gmail and Yahoo strip the HREF attribute when you use the SMS protocol. This happens in both the mobile app and the web client. Outlook.com removes the entire link tag. As a result, your button may show up as plain text with no link.
Suggested workaround
Add a fallback text string if an SMS link or button is your main call-to-action. For example: "Button not working? Text us directly at [your phone number]." This gives recipients another way to reach you if the link fails.

I have this same issue. But, I am not really a coder. How should I fix this easily?
